Rousseau Enterprises Brings in the Funk

GAINSVILLE, Fla. -- Rousseau Enterprises, the Florida-based operator of Le Store convenience stores, signed a deal with Dallas-based Visilinx Inc. to use the Visilinx Virtual Manager system for remotely managing their distribution points.

Terms of the agreement call for Internet-based access to Rousseau Enterprises' convenience stores to provide live video, audio and POS data, digitally recorded video archives, POS exception analysis and supporting remote management solutions for selected stores in central Florida.

Implementation of the system has already begun and will be fully deployed over the next few weeks.

"We were looking for new technology that would help us improve our store management capabilities in a variety of areas," said Todd Rousseau, company vice president. "The Visilinx system is a big step in the right direction for us, plus it puts us a leap ahead of our competitors. We have already had great successes with the Virtual Manager -- system even at this early stage."

According to Patrick Sullivan, founder of Visilinx, remote management is a new dimension of retail store operations that has recently entered the convenience retailing market place. Access to store data is available anywhere a person can sign on the Internet. The system gives store managers, territory managers, trainers, merchandisers, security directors and corporate executives real-time access to store data, integrated with video and audio over a managed, secure, intranet platform.
