Royal Buying Group Honors Key Vendors

HINSDALE, Ill. -- Royal Buying Group Inc. (RBG), a national retail consulting firm dedicated to maximizing the profitability of convenience stores and gas stations, yesterday announced its annual vendor service award winners. The Vendor of the Year award was presented to Procter & Gamble's Account Manager Paul Bernstein.

"RBG and Procter and Gamble have aligned processes to provide complete category management as an integral part of both company's business strategy. Procter & Gamble has done an exceptional job promoting secondary product placement in Royal Buying Group's locations for 2002-2003 which has helped retailers succeed in increasing their bottom line profitability," said Monique Cotton, a category manager for RBG.

The Wholesale Distributor of the Year award was presented to Dearborn Wholesale Grocers L.P. Account Manager Steve Lents.

"Dearborn has dedicated itself to providing Royal Buying Group with necessary velocity data needed to maximize our membership's profitability," said Christine Brown, RBG's director of vendors. "Dearborn Wholesale Grocers was one of the first wholesale distributors to provide Royal Buying Group with electronic invoice data."

The Direct Store Delivered Vendor of the Year award was presented to American Bottling Company's Key Account Manager Tom Hyland.
"American Bottling Company of Chicago strengthened their relations with the independent retailer by providing competitive pricing and monthly promotions throughout 2002 and continue to grow the RBG beverage category in 2003," said Molly Dominick, a category manager for RBG.
