Rutter and Hartman Families Honored for Philanthropy
YORK, Pa. — The Rutter and Hartman families have been recognized for their generosity in leadership, charitable support and volunteer service with the Cornerstone Award, presented by SpiriTrust Lutheran.
This year’s recipients were Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's Farm Stores; Todd Rutter, president of Rutter's Dairy; and Tim Rutter, president of M&G Realty.
The 2016 Cornerstone Award was presented on Thursday, April 14, during a celebration dinner.
"We are honored to be receiving this award. Giving back to the community is something we are very passionate about," said Hartman. "Supporting children to grow up healthy, happy, and well educated enhances the community for all of us. Receiving this award makes us proud because we know we were able to impact the lives of many others."
Throughout 2015, Rutter's donated more than $235,000 to central Pennsylvania charities. Additionally, over the past decade, the donations elevated the company's charitable giving total to over $5 million, primarily to organizations focused on improving the lives of local children.
Through programs like Rutter's Rewards Schools and Vote with Your Dollars, Rutter's has donated to numerous organizations such as Children's Home of York, Crispus Attucks, YMCAs in the York region, the Jewish Community Center and Make a Wish.

York-based Rutter's is a family-owned convenience store chain operating 61 convenience stores throughout central Pennsylvania.
