Rutter’s Awards Second Prize in “Fuel Up Free!” Contest

YORK, Pa. -- Insurance salesman Joe Kopp, of Fairview Township, York County, Pa., is the second winner in Rutter’s Farm Stores' “Fuel Up Free!” contest. His gasoline purchases will be covered by the convenience store chain for one year -- and that’s a good thing for Kopp, who puts nearly 20,000 miles per year on his Honda Accord.

“I’m planning on pretty much using (the prize) for a tank of gas a week and seeing how long I can stretch it out,” said Kopp, a long-time Rutter’s customer and married father of four.

A total of eight Rutter’s customers will win free gas for one year under the contest, which runs through Aug. 29, with drawings held approximately every two weeks.

During the contest, Rutter’s is offering monthly food and beverage specials. Each purchase of a featured item earns a customer one contest entry. The more featured items purchased, the more opportunities to win, according to the retailer.

Customers who swipe their Rutter’s Rewards loyalty cards when they purchase the featured items automatically are entered into the drawing. Customers who purchase the featured items without using a Rutter’s Rewards card receive an entry form that can be filled out and dropped in a designated box at any Rutter’s store.

Participating contest sponsors include Coca-Cola, Davis Beverage, Edy’s Grand Ice Cream, Glaceau, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Kunzler & Co., Monster Beverages, Nestle Waters, Pepsi Cola, Pennsylvania Lottery, Red Bull, Rutter’s Dairy and S&D Coffee.

The “Fuel Up Free!” contest is only open to legal residents of Maryland and Pennsylvania who are at least 18 years old. No purchase is necessary to participate.
