Rutter's Earns Top Spots on Local Ratings
YORK, Pa.--Rutter’s again boasts the No. 1 milk and has also earned the top spot for “deli, sub or sandwich” in the 2006 “Best of York County” rankings presented by Pennsylvania’s York Sunday News .
The York Sunday News has presented its reader survey since 2001. The 2006 edition comprised 85 categories across seven divisions.
The newspaper cited Rutter’s Farm Stores, a York County fixture since 1968, for “chomping its way to the top spot” for deli, sub or sandwich, up from third place last year.
Rutter’s Farm Stores moved up from third to second place in the coffee division--behind only Starbucks--and anticipates a No. 1 ranking next year after rolling out its new premium specialty coffee offering later this year, according to the press release.
“We’re honored to be recognized ahead of Subway, the international leader in the sandwich category, and in hot pursuit of Starbucks, the No. 1 coffee worldwide,” said Scott Hartman, president of Rutter’s Farm Stores.
“It’s a daily privilege for our family and for our employees to meet the needs of York County residents,” said Todd Rutter, president of Rutter’s Dairy.
Based in York County, the family-owned Rutter’s operates 50 convenience stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
