Rutter's Farm Stores Opens Fayetteville C-Store

FAYETTEVILLE, Penn. -- Rutter's Farm Stores opened a new store that includes green features and is more energy efficient, according to a World Interior Design Network report.

The company's efforts to make the 5,200 square foot location more environmentally friendly include a white reflective or cooling roof, infrared-controlled lighting sensors, instant hot water heaters and use of building materials sourced from within 500 miles of the store.

Instead of traditional landscaping, the location's exterior incorporates meadow grass and wildflowers, according to the report. Interior features include triple panel glazed windows, heaterless doorframes, an energy-efficient LED lighting system and an energy management system. Twenty-two skylights reduce the need for artificial lighting.

The 24-hour store contains a restaurant that serves Rutter's latest menu items. Outside, customers will find eight gas pumps, four which pump diesel, a dedicated diesel fueling area for tractor trailers, and a two-bay automatic car wash.
