Rutter's Presents Second Gas Giveaway
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores presented its second grand prize in the chain's "Fuel Up Free!" giveaway yesterday. Jason Waltz of Spring Grove, Pa., who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Monday, won three years of free gasoline courtesy of Rutter's.
Waltz is the owner of The Impressionist, which does interior and exterior painting in Hanover, York and Lancaster, Pa. He said he spends $60 to $70 each week on gas as he drives to job sites. At the same time, the down economy has cut into his revenue.
Winning the free gas "was a big, big help for me. I've been running on fumes for weeks," said the life-long Rutter's customer, who was formally presented the prize during an event Tuesday morning at the chain's store at 420 N. Main St., Spring Grove.
Rutter's gas giveaway began May 26 and runs through Aug. 24. A total of four customers will win free gas for three years, with the remaining grand-prize drawings scheduled for Aug. 4 and Sept. 15. The first winner was Kathy Wallick of North York, Pa.
Family-owned and third generation-managed, Manchester Township-based Rutter's operates 52 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
