Rutter's Wins Five 'Best of York' Awards
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores racked up the accolades in this year's "Best of York" contest, as determined by the readers of the York Daily Record. The 60-store convenience chain earned the top honor in all five of the categories in which it was nominated, including Best Quick-Service Breakfast, Best Quick-Service Lunch, Best Quick-Service Dinner, Best Coffee and Best Milk.
Rutter's hometown appeal was highlighted as it outranked several national restaurant brands, including Panera Bread, Starbucks and Chipotle Mexican Grill. The 2014 poll also marked the 12th consecutive year that Rutter's milk earned the Best of York title.
"We are proud of the recognition we've been given on a national level, and winning the Best of York by voting from our loyal customers reaffirms our commitment to innovative new menu items using the best and most flavorful ingredients for our customers," said Derek Gaskins, Rutter's chief customer officer.
Rutter's dominance in the foodservice arena has been widely recognized, including in Convenience Store News' annual Foodservice Innovators Awards. Rutter's earned top honors as the Best Prepared Food Innovator in 2013 and the Foodservice Retailer of the Year in 2012.
Based in York, Pa., Rutter's was founded in 1921 and is led by the family's third generation of leadership.
