Sheetz Backs Olympic Medalist in 2012 Pittsburgh Marathon
ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. will have a notable presence at this Sunday's Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. The convenience store chain is sponsoring American Olympic Medalist and 10,000-meter record holder Meb Keflezighi's appearances over the race weekend.
The Olympian, who is one of the most celebrated and decorated American long-distance runners, will be signing autographs, taking pictures with spectators and runners, and participating in a question-and-answer session. His career highlights include being a 2012 Olympic Men's Marathon Qualifier for this summer's London Olympics (personal best: 2:09:08); the 2009 New York City Marathon winner; American record holder in the 10,000-meter; and a 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist.

"He embodies the spirit of a strong work ethic and overcoming adversity to become a champion. His presence at the GNC Live Well Health and Fitness Expo will provide a great motivation to runners and spectators."
Sheetz is also sponsoring this year's Race Day VIP activities for the fourth consecutive time.

In addition to his career race achievements, Keflezighi is a motivational speaker and makes appearances to share his story of growing up in Eritrea to inspire current and future runners. He is also the author of "Run to Overcome."
