Sheetz Continues to Grow in Home State

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. continues on its growth path, and this time in its own backyard.

Sheetz Convenience Restaurant marked the opening of its 433rd convenience store overall -- and 227th store in its home state of Pennsylvania -- on Dec. 13. The new store, located in North Huntington Township in Westmoreland County, measures 5,700 square feet and brings 40 to 45 jobs to the area, according to the company.

"Pennsylvania has been home to Sheetz for more than 60 years and now we will have one more location to serve our loyal customers," said Stan Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz Inc. "Around the corner and across the state Sheetz has become a favorite stop for award winning Made-To-Order food and specialty beverages that we proudly serve 24 hours a day, every day."

The North Huntington Township store follows on the recent addition of a new Sheetz in Summit Township in Erie County, Pa. Louis Sheetz, executive vice president of Sheetz, told the Erie Times-News that the convenience store retailer plans to open at least four more locations in the county.

The company would not pinpoint where it plans to build; however, it said a number of specific sites are being studied.
