Sheetz Embarks on 8,000-Employee Hiring Initiative
ALTOONA, Pa. — Sheetz Inc. continues to make news on the labor front, outlining its plans Monday morning to hire more than 8,000 employees companywide.
The move comes roughly three months after the retailer announced it was investing more than $15 million this year to increase employee wages, as CSNews Online previously reported.
This latest initiative aims to increase the company's total employee count and full-time positions by creating and filling jobs at its convenience stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.
Stores in select Pennsylvania, West Virginia and North Carolina market areas will host open job interviews this month for prospective employees.
"Sheetz is proud to attribute our significant companywide growth to our dedicated employees, and we are thrilled to roll out an extensive hiring initiative aimed at adding thousands more to our Sheetz family," said Stephanie Doliveira, vice president of human resources for Sheetz. "At the heart of our hiring efforts is an unwavering commitment to stay ahead of the curve and to do what is right for our people."
Sheetz offers competitive benefits packages to employees, including medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, flexible schedules, opportunities for advancement, adoption assistance, wellness and gym reimbursement, bonuses, vacation time and more.
