Sheetz Opens First Store in Southern West Va.

FAYETTEVILLE, West Va. -- Sheetz Inc. opened its newest store here. It is the convenience chain's 32nd in West Virginia, but its first in the southern part of the state, according to a report by WVNS-TV.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last Thursday to debut the store, which also marks Sheetz's 281st location. As part of the ceremony, the store's management presented a donation of $2,500 to the Special Olympics of West Virginia, the report stated.

"We really look at ourselves as kind of a hybrid between a convenience store and a fast-food restaurant," Joe Sheetz, the company's vice president of finance, told the TV station. "We like to say 'Not fast food, but better food, fast." And that's really what we try to live by."

Sheetz said he hopes this is the first of many stores coming to the area. There is already another location under construction in Summersville, West Va., he noted.
