Sheetz Opens New Store in Sugarloaf, Pa.
ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. opened its newest location in Sugarloaf, Pa., with a lot of fanfare. The company rewarded the first 50 people in line with a $100 Z-card good to use for anything in the store, which had eager customers lining up early. Shoppers also participated in games to win prizes and enjoyed complimentary food and beverage samples.
"People are lined up and waiting when we get to the store to cut the ribbon," Stan Sheetz, president and CEO of the Altoona, Pa.-based chain, said just before the grand opening. "We can't wait to serve new customers and work to give them the best-ever experience in our stores. We love to see them being as excited as we are to open."
Doors to the new 5,000-square-foot store, located at 551 Route 93, officially opened at 3 p.m. yesterday. The location offers fresh food such as the MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, doughnuts and muffins, plus Sheetz' signature MTO line of Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more, according to the announcement.
The store also contains Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar where customers can order hot, frozen or iced specialty coffee drinks prepared by a trained barista.
"Sheetz has a legacy of innovation, customer focus and employee development," the CEO said. "The company's mission today is on meeting the needs of customers on the go by providing fast and friendly service, [and] quality products in clean and convenient locations."
As part of the grand-opening celebration, Sheetz is making a donation to Special Olympics Pennsylvania, which the company has supported since 1992.
