Shell Extends PCI Rebate Deadline

HOUSTON -- Shell has offered marketers who wish to receive some help in paying for the cost of PCI compliance the opportunity of receiving payment through its Technology Incentive Program (TIP). While the deadline for compliance with both Phase 1 (in-store) and Phase 2 (dispenser terminal) of the TIP was previously Dec. 31, 2009, due to delays encountered with software vendors, the deadline for Phase 2 compliance will be extended to March 31, 2010, The National Association of Shell Marketers (NASM) reported.

Additionally, PCI compliance is necessary in order for marketers to participate in Shell Rewards and grocer programs, and whether a marketer participates in the TIP or not, it must comply with the PCI compliance deadlines imposed by Visa, NASM stated.
