Shell Helps City Become "Green"
CARSON, Calif. -- Shell Oil Co., along with the city of Carson, Calif., and the LA Conservation Corps partnered to lead one of the largest tree-planting efforts in Southern California in an effort to "green" Carson, Shell stated.
A commemorative tree planting at Carson Park over the weekend marked the beginning of the relationship, which is dedicated to continued beautification of the city. Under the partnership, nearly 300 trees will be planted in additional locations throughout the community, according to the company.
To celebrate the launch, Shell’s leadership team, along with the city’s mayor, Jim Dear, council members, state assembly and senate members, school board members and more than 500 residents were expected to attend.
