Shell Hosts 'Protect and Save' Gasoline Giveaways

HOUSTON -- Shell is helping consumers protect their cars as well as their wallets with surprise "Protect and Save" Gasoline Giveaways, the company announced. The events are designed to showcase the benefits of saving on fuel through loyalty rewards programs.

Eight cities will host "Protect and Save" events: Atlanta, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Miami, New York, Portland, Seattle and San Francisco. The giveaways are taking place in four of the cities today, Sept. 28, with the other four taking place on Oct. 13.

The giveaways will take place at one secret Shell station in each city, which will be revealed the day of the event. Drivers who arrive at the secret station within the designated 90-minute promotional period will receive up to 15 free gallons of Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasoline. The fuel cleans and protects critical engine parts to improve performance as consumers drive, the company said.

"At Shell, we understand that drivers rely upon their vehicles whether they're going to work or heading to the mall for early holiday shopping," said Karen Wildman, Shell North American brand and communications manager. "With more motorists looking for ways to save at the pump, Shell provides high-quality fuels that protect their engines against gunk, as well as ways to save at the pump so they can achieve the most value for every fuel purchase they make."
