Shell, Jewel-Osco Partner for Fuel Rewards Program
Starting June 25, consumers who use their My Jewel-Osco Rewards Card when shopping at participating area Jewel-Osco stores will be able to earn Fuel Rewards savings, which may be redeemed at local participating Shell stations for discounts at the pump.
Consumers just need to carry their My Jewel-Osco Rewards Card and scan it when they check out at the store to earn Fuel Rewards savings. For every $50 spent on qualified purchases at participating Jewel-Osco stores, consumers can earn a savings of 5 cents per gallon on fuel that is redeemable on a single fill-up, up to 20 gallons, at any one of the more than 350 local participating Shell stations.
Fuel Rewards savings earned through the My Jewel-Osco Fuel Rewards program accumulate, so the more consumers spend at participating Jewel-Osco stores, the more Fuel Rewards savings they earn.
Qualifying purchases are automatically tracked and each time the $50 threshold is met, another 5-cents-per-gallon reward on fuel is earned. Fuel Rewards savings will expire the last day of the month following the month they were earned.
"Jewel-Osco is pleased to be able to offer local consumers the opportunity to save money on fuel," said Melissa Pursley, director of marketing. "We recognize that today's consumers are continually looking for increased value, and the My Jewel-Osco Fuel Rewards program provides them with an easy way to save. We encourage everyone in the Chicago area to sign up for a My Jewel-Osco Rewards Card to start taking advantage of the savings."
Later this year in the Chicago area, Excentus will also officially launch the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) program at Shell, a rewards program developed and operated by Excentus that will allow consumers to save significantly more at the pump by expanding the ways they can earn rewards.
The My Jewel-Osco Fuel Rewards program is part of the FRN program and local consumers will soon be able to combine rewards from their grocery purchases at Jewel-Osco with other everyday purchases, such as clothing, dining out, etc., for potentially huge savings at the pump, according to the announcement.
