SIGMA Aligns with Energy Management Institute
NEW YORK -- SIGMA, the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America, Monday, announced an alliance with the Energy Management Institute (EMI) of New York to produce a new Masters Education Program, "Effective Fuel Buying Strategies for Motor Fuel Marketers."
The alliance demonstrates a clear focus on preparing a new generation of gasoline focused marketers by arming them with progressive wholesale petroleum purchasing strategies, the groups said. EMI, which provides specialized education services to major oil, Fortune 500 end-users and top transportation fleets throughout the world, is working with SIGMA to deliver meaningful content and education programs "that meet the challenges facing SIGMA members in today's unpredictable and increasingly competitive gasoline markets."
"In response to member requests, SIGMA has worked with EMI to develop a program specifically aimed at today's motor fuel marketer," said Kenneth Doyle, SIGMA's executive vice president. "We had in mind a particular type of company when we developed the content -- a company large enough to be doing more than just rack buying, but small enough that it might still have a lot to learn. As the course was developed, we realized it has a much broader applicability,"
"Through a careful balance of hands-on instruction, lecture and real-life example, this professional workshop program will provide participants with a comprehensive exposure to macro & micro market fundamentals and cutting edge purchasing strategies that drive success in the energy markets," said J. Scott Susich, senior partner at EMI.
