Speedway Enters Pittsburgh Market via Acquisition

PITTSBURGH – Speedway LLC has officially entered the Pittsburgh market following a $5.1 million purchase of four area Sunoco gas stations from On Line Inc., according to a report by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

The stations are located at:

  • 4380 Old William Penn Highway, Wilkins, Pa.;

  • 4830 William Penn Highway, Monroeville, Pa.;

  • 4311 Steubenville Pike, Robinson, Pa.; and

  • 4420 Browns Hill Road, Squirrel Hill, Pa.

"Western Pennsylvania is a continuous market for Speedway," said company spokesman Jamal Kheiry. He did not comment on Speedway's specific plans for the area, however.

Speedway LLC is the retail division of Findlay, Ohio-based Marathon Petroleum Corp.

Several other Marathon-branded gas stations already operate in the Pittsburgh market, but they are not part of the Speedway operation, the news outlet reported.
