Speedway Selects US Tank Alliance for Waste Removal

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Marathon Oil Corp. and Speedway SuperAmerica signed contracts with US Tank Alliance (UST) for its waste drum transportation and disposal program.

As part of the contract, UST will be responsible for drum pickup, transportation and disposal for the two companies' pickup locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin and West Virginia. The cost for the removal and disposal will remain at a fixed rate regardless of drum location or gas price increases.

"Providing waste removal services seemed like the next logical step since we've handled Speedway SuperAmerica's UST testing and cleaning needs for the past three years," Fernando Crosa, president of UST, said in a written statement. "US Tank alliance has the needed resources readily available for Marathon’s drum transportation and disposal program."

UST will also ensure that waste drums are properly handled and disposed of. Using Marathon's integrated data system, UST will identify locations that need drums removed and the hazard level of each.
