Spinx Co. Pushing Alternative Fuels At Pumps

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Spinx Oil Company continues to lead the development of the alternative fuel market, in the month of May, they have pumped more than 53,000 gallons of E85 and more than 486,000 gallons of Biodiesel at its Exxon, Amoco, Conoco and Sunoco stations throughout North and South Carolina and Georgia.

This is one more notch for Spinx in the developing industry's belt. In early 2005, Spinx was the first to bring E85 to northern South Carolina. In June 2005, Spinx partnered with Willie Nelson Biodiesel Fuel to bring the alternative diesel fuel to its pumps.

The desire to bring these fuels to market, according to Spinx, was an anticipation of changes to the entire wholesale hydrocarbon fuel market. "We are fortunate to have the immediate support of our customers to make the introduction of E85 and Biodiesel such a success," said founder and CEO Stewart Spinx.

"Bringing environmental fuels to an area is a process for the retailer and takes a strong commitment and investment. Retailers, like the Spinx Co. understand the long term benefits of making environmental fuels a part of their offering to customers," said Wendy Bell, coordinator for the Palmetto State Clean Fuels Coalition.
