Spinx Hosts 10th Charity Classic Golf Tournament.

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Spinx Co. is hosting the 10th Spinx Charity Classic Golf Tournament to benefit a half-dozen local charities.

The tournament, to be held at the Chanticleer, Riverside and Cherokee Valley golf courses April 26, will kick off with a private Pairings Party featuring food, cocktails and a silent auction the evening before.

The Spinx Charity Classic is designed to raise awareness and funds for local charities and distributes 100 percent of the proceeds through the Spinks Family Charity Foundation. This year's charity recipients are The American Red Cross Upstate Chapter, Hands on Greenville, Junior Achievement, Loaves and Fishes, the Ronald McDonald House and Pendleton Place Children's Shelter.

"We are excited about this year's tournament. It will be our 10th year of hosting a fun golf outing that brings community members together while benefiting local charities. It's our way of saying thank you to local organizations that help others," said Spinx CEO Stewart Spinks.

The goal for this year's tournament is to raise more than $140,000. The tournament is open to the public and individual or four-person team positions can be purchased. Online registrations are available at www.myspinx.com under the Community and Golf Tournament page. Food and beverages are provided for tournament participants. Registration is open through March 31.

The Spinx Co. operates more than 70 convenience retail stores in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Founded in 1972 by Stewart Spinks, the company is the largest privately held gasoline and convenience retailer in South Carolina.
