Spinx Selects Radiant Point of Sale

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Spinx Co. Inc., operator of more than 60 c-stores based here, will deploy Radiant Systems Inc.'s point-of-sale (POS) and customer self-service technology to more than 40 Spinx-branded retail locations, the company stated.

"The mission of The Spinx Co. is to 'Make People's Lives Easier,'" Stewart Spinks, founder and CEO of Spinx, said in a statement. "We believe Radiant's point-of-sale and self-service solutions are the best choice to help us achieve our organization's goals."

Spinx said it selected Radiant based on its support of a wide variety of consumer-marketing programs, enhanced speed of service, and its ability to support the retailer's foodservice operations, the company stated.

The system, being implemented at Spinx stores, include Radiant POS and customer self-service software, P1550 hardware terminals, S4500 site servers, the Radiant Electronic Payment Controller and Tiger Fuel Controller, the company stated. The Radiant technology also will integrate into Spinx's PDI back-office system, using industry-standard PCATS-NAXML interface, according to the company.

As part of the deployment, Spinx will install Radiant Loyalty Manager, a program that allows the chain to interface its POS with a variety of hosted loyalty programs.

"Radiant continues to be the choice for regional market leaders like Spinx," Mark Schoen, president of Radiant's global petroleum and convenience retail division, said in a statement. "Products like the Electronic Payment Controller and the Tiger Fuel Controller continue to make transactions faster, while enabling retailers to do more both at the dispenser and in the store."
