Spinx's New President Is First From Outside Founding Family

Stanley Storti

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Spinx Co. announced today that the convenience store chain will be led by someone outside of the Spinks family for the first time ever following the appointment of Stan Storti to the role of president. He will succeed Steve Spinks, who was named president and CEO in 2012 and will continue as CEO.

Since joining Spinx in 2005 as chief financial officer, Storti has also served as chief marketing officer and executive vice president. He previously spent six years as manager of retail accounting for Wawa Inc.

In his new role, Storti will focus on cultivating the company's leadership team, encouraging the company's innovative spirit and positioning the company for long-term growth and expansion, among other initiatives, the company stated. Storti will transition to the new position over the next several months.

As CEO, Steve Spinks, son of company founder Stewart Spinks, will continue to oversee strategic leadership of the Spinx retail company and the Ace Energy wholesale company.

Stewart Spinks serves as chairman of the board, a role that allows him to focus on improving corporate governance and advising the company's leadership team, along with focusing on the Spinks family's real estate investments and developments.

These new appointments further strengthen the core leadership team during an era of growth and expansion, according to the retailer.

The Spinx Co. operates 74 c-stores in North and South Carolina with a goal of "Making Life Easier" for customers.
