Standex Makes Changes to Organizational Structure

DALLAS -- Standex Cooking Solutions Group announced several structural changes to the organization in order to better serve the evolving needs of the market. These moves follow the opening of Standex CSG's administrative offices and the Standex Culinary Development Center in Allen, Texas, earlier this year.

Standex has chosen a site and is in the process of building a new distribution center in the Dallas area, which is set to open in October. The new center will augment current distribution operations in southern Arizona and northern New Jersey, and improve transit times by reducing the number of handling transfers and subsequent potential for damage, while providing a better cost basis for customers, the company stated.

Additionally, Standex is investing in a state-of-the-art model shop and engineering labaratory, co-located with its Culinary Development Center, to better work with key accounts and provide an improved level of culinary interaction during the new product development process. The facility is expected to be fully operational within the next 10 months.

Finally, the company's Cooking Solutions reorganization also includes the transition out of its Cheyenne, Wyo., facility over the next year. The consolidation of its production volume into other existing facilities in Simpsonville, S.C.; Savannah, Tenn.; and Nogales, Mexico, will better serve its market from an operational standpoint and allow Standex to better utilize its existing plants, according to the announcement. Standex anticipates a seamless transition to the other facilities.
