Starting a Revolution

YORK, Pa., and ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Shipley Energy announced that it has become the first energy company to offer a co-branded RevolutionCard, a new, PIN-based credit card, with plans to periodically boast valuable incentives for consumers when they use their RevolutionCard for qualifying Shipley Energy purchases.

With no interchange fees and a transaction processing fee of only 0.50 percent, the RevolutionCard helps merchants, like Shipley Energy, build merchant-centric incentive programs. And since PIN significantly reduces chargeback and fraud risk, merchants also benefit from reduced costs, according to the company’s news release.

RevolutionCard eliminates costly interchange fees, so Shipley Energy can pass the savings back to its customers who are RevolutionCard holders in the form of periodic promotional offers and incentives, such as:

-- A 10-cent per gallon discount at the pump on any gas purchase at the company's Tom's Convenience Store locations when using a Shipley Energy RevolutionCard;

-- A $100 credit provided to new home heating oil or propane customers who pay with the Shipley Energy RevolutionCard; and

-- A $100 credit for every home heating oil or propane customer referred that becomes a Shipley customer.

"The RevolutionCard is an outstanding advantage that Shipley Energy is pleased to offer our customers," company president William Shipley III said in a statement. "Customers who pay their energy expenses using their RevolutionCard will be presented with various opportunities to enjoy numerous benefits and cost savings on qualifying purchases. Shipley Energy is delighted to partner with Revolution Money and extend this opportunity in central Pennsylvania."

Additional incentives that will be offered by Shipley to RevolutionCard holders include:

-- Five free months of bottled water service, including a water cooler and two 5-gallon bottles of spring water delivered per month for Yowza Bottled Spring Water Service customers; and a one-time $20 check for new natural gas customers, or a $20 check for every natural gas customer referred that becomes a Shipley customer.

"We are excited about offering our customers an innovative way to make their credit purchases easily and securely," Shipley said. "We strive to provide consumers with the most state-of-the-art and convenient way of completing their purchases."
