Stewart Shop's Charitable Fund Raises $20,000 a Day
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Stewart's Shops' Holiday Match fundraiser averaged $20,000 a day in its first two weeks across the chain's 327 stores, according to a report in The Times Union.
The fundraising program continues until Christmas. Stewart's will match the amount customers donate, which will go to various charities in the c-store operators' markets.
Last year the chain raised $1.1 million, including the company match. Local charities may apply for funding through Jan. 31, 2010, at Stewart's locations.
The company is expecting more than 1,000 applications, the newspaper reported.
