Stewart's Shops Headed to Syracuse Area
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. – Stewart's Shops may be headed to the Syracuse, N.Y., area, according to a Syracuse.com report. The convenience store chain is reportedly planning to open stores in Utica and Liverpool.
The company has already submitted an application for the Utica store to the city's planning board. The 3,400-square-foot store would be located between Allen and Monroe Streets and include six self-serve gas pumps. It would also offer a walk-in beer cave, which is a new addition to the chain.
Stewart's spokeswoman Maria D'Amelia would not provide an exact location for the Liverpool location, but did say that the project is in its early stages.
Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based Stewart's operates 330 c-stores in upstate New York and southern Vermont. It normally carries standard groceries, fresh prepared food and its own line of ice cream.
