Stewart's Shops Hits a Double on Store Openings

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Stewart’s Shops customers are seeing double.

The convenience store retailer opened two new New York shops on Wednesday. The first is located near the Lake George outlets — known as the “Million Dollar Half Mile” — and the other resides in Halfmoon. It replaces the company’s existing location on Guideboard Road.

The Lake George and Halfmoon stores are among 18 Stewart’s Shops expected to be built this year, either as a brand-new location or replacement of an existing location, along with nearly 40 remodels, the company said.

The grand opening at the Lake George store, located at 1433 State Route 9, will take place Aug. 3 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. That will be followed by a grand-opening celebration at the Halfmoon store at 214 Guideboard Road. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at noon, followed by an ice cream-eating contest at 4 p.m.

Both locations have a greater footprint to accommodate Stewart’s Shops consumers’ growing demand for easy food options, according to the company. The increase in store size provides space for freshly made pizza and made-to-order subs, along with traditional Stewart’s offerings, a walk-in cooler/beer cave and seating. Outside, the additional space provides greater flow for parking and accessibility to fuel.

Specials on Stewart’s products and fuel will be offered during each grand-opening event.

Saratoga Springs-based Stewart's Shops has 331 locations across upstate New York and southern Vermont.
