Stop & Shop in Quincy, Mass., to Sell Gasoline
PLYMOUTH, Mass. -- Stop & Shop is set to open its first gas station in Quincy, across the street from its location on Southern Artery, according to the Patriot Ledger.
The city’s license board has approved the supermarket chain’s plans to acquire the Bearde & Sons gas station next to the police station and sell gas there.
Stop & Shop also has gas stations in Abington, Pembroke, Whitman and Plymouth, Mass. Quincy’s license board approved the company’s plan to tear down the building on the Bearde & Sons property and install a 40,000-gallon underground gasoline storage tank.
Stop & Shop plans to begin building the station in the spring and open it in mid-summer.
