Subway Expands Its Menu
Subway is expanding its menu across the United States and Canada with the launch of a new hot, toasted sandwich -- the Chicken Parmesan sub.
Billed by the Milford, Conn.-based restaurant chain as "an Italian taste adventure," the new sandwich features all-white breaded chicken and the chain's exclusive marinara sauce, topped with hot melted cheese, garnished with the customer's choice of vegetables and finished off with a sprinkle of aged parmesan cheese.
"Our Chicken Parmesan sub takes a popular Italian entree and combines it with our fresh-baked breads and the toppings choices that have been a Subway hallmark over the past 40 years," said Chris Martone, the chain's executive chef. "Our ability to toast this sandwich all the way through really married the flavors of the chicken, sauce, cheeses and breads, creating an immediate flavor favorite for our lunch and dinnertime customers."
The Chicken Parmesan sub received a tremendous response from consumers in several test markets earlier this year, earning it a place on Subway's menu.
