Subway to Step Up Its Value Offerings

MILFORD, Conn. -- Subway saw massive success with its $5 Footlong promotion, and now the sandwich chain is offering extra value to customers who prefer smaller subs.

Starting this month, the Six-Inch Selects program will offer a rotation of sandwiches for the reduced price of $3, according to the Associated Press. The oven-roasted chicken sandwich is the first to be featured in the promotion, which is scheduled to run at least through June.

A company spokesman said that Subway has offered six-inch subs for $3 in select markets in the past, but this marks the first national launch of the program.

The new promotion is one of several launched by national chains in recent months in order to highlight value. Others include Wendy's revamped value menu, McDonald's focus on its Dollar Menu and Burger King's introduction of "King Deals" in select markets, according to the report.

Milford, Conn.-based Subway has more than 37,000 locations worldwide.
