Tedeschi Food Shops Jumps In at Red Bull Cliff Diving Event

ROCKLAND, Mass. -- Tedeschi Food Shops Inc. is taking the plunge as the exclusive convenience store partner of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Event, which will take place Sunday, Aug. 25 at 100 Northern Ave. in Boston.

According to a blog post on Tedeschi's website, the 2 p.m. event is expected to draw 50,000 spectators and will feature the world's best high divers leaping from the 90-foot-high roof of the Institute of Contemporary Art building -- an "urban cliff" -- into the Boston Harbor.

Tedeschi Food Shops will open an on-site mobile convenience store for the event and all proceeds will be donated to The One Fund Boston, a charity assisting the victims and families affected by the tragic events at the Boston Marathon on April 15.

The Aug. 25 event is part of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, which is visiting Boston for the third consecutive year. The city is one of only three urban venues on the series' event calendar.

The 90-foot take-off board in Boston requires the most complex construction process of the whole World Series, Red Bull stated on its event website. A 279-foot-radius crane is required to take the platform's weight off the building and stabilize the whole construction that will sit atop the museum.

Tedeschi Food Shops operates 191 convenience stores in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
