Tesco to Open 4 Arizona Stores on Dec. 5
MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa and Chandler will be the first cities in the Valley to get Tesco Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets, according to a report in The Arizona Republic, which stated a spokesman for the British-based company said four stores will open there on Dec. 5.
The 10,000- to 15,000-square-foot stores will carry fresh produce and ready-to-eat meals without additives and trans-fats, the report stated. Fresh & Easy plans to open 27 of the stores in the Phoenix metro area by the end of 2008.
Mesa's first stores will be at Main Street and Ellsworth Road; Brown and Recker roads; and Alma School Road and University Drive, while Chandler's store will be at Alma School and Elliot roads, the report stated.
Fresh & Easy spokesman Brendan Wonnacott said the company may open more stores by the end of the year, but plans for that are not definite, according to the newspaper.
