Thorntons Chooses Trax for Shrink Reduction and Control
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Thorntons Inc., a Louisville, Ky.-based gasoline and convenience store chain of approximately 140 stores, is partnering with Trax Retail Solutions, a company specializing in loss prevention, store operations control and profit optimization solutions, and will implement its ShrinkTrax system after a successful pilot project.
“ShrinkTrax is a system of technology and best practices,” said Tony Miller, senior vice president of Thorntons. “Our managers and executives will be alerted to shrink problems and can monitor and measure cashier and operational effectiveness. Quick access to “useable” information is key to our success.”
ShrinkTrax is a loss prevention solution designed to prevent cashier and vendor-related shrink before it happens. Data-mining technology analyzes data points throughout the retail store, arming store managers with alerts and analyses of their shrink-sensitive areas and productivity opportunities, as well as corrective action plans.
“Our software recognizes that every store has unique characteristics and starts with its own baseline statistical makeup,” said Mike Kienzlen, vice president of sales for Trax. “We’re pleased to work with them on implementing a combined technology and best practices solution that will solve their business issues.”
