Tis' The Season For Giving
FAIRBURN, Ga. -- Geo. H. Green Oil collected a record amount this year for The Welcome House, a women's shelter, and the Empty Stocking Fund, which provides underprivileged children in the metro Atlanta area with holiday gifts.
The chain, which operates six stores, exceeded this year's goal by $3,000, raising a total of $16,500 -- some $4,500 more than last year's collection.
"Thanks to the great effort of our employees, the financial support of our owners and the generosity of our customers, more than 900 underprivileged area children will wake up with toys and gifts in their stockings," said Jim Callahan, the company's director of marketing. "I am awed by the effort and results."
