TravelCenters Acquires Five Apollo Markets
WESTLAKE, Ohio — TravelCenters of America LLC completed its acquisition of five former Apollo Markets convenience stores in Illinois.
The travel center operator stated the five acquired c-stores will be rebranded under its Minit Mart name and will undergo improvements during the coming months. The company is currently undergoing a transition whereby all of its convenience stores will carry the Minit Mart moniker. As CSNews Online reported, this process should be completed by the end of this month.
TravelCenters has been quite active acquiring convenience stores in recent months. This includes the addition of 17 c-stores in Wisconsin on April 1, five different Illinois c-stores on Feb. 26 and four locations in Kansas and Missouri on Jan. 4.
In fact, since the beginning of 2016, the travel center operator has acquired nearly 200 c-stores.
TravelCenters also acquired certain assets of quick-service restaurant Quaker Steak & Lube on April 21 for $25 million.
Westlake-based TravelCenters of America LLC conducts business in 43 states and Canada, primarily under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers brands. It also operates convenience stores under the Minit Mart name.
