TravelCenters Adds More Value to StayFit Program

WESTLAKE, Ohio — TravelCenters of America LLC is helping professional drivers stick to their resolutions to get or stay healthy.

The operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers has ramped up its better-for-you offerings, fitness options and tips from the StayFit program to encourage drivers to get fit and stay healthy.

"We're committed and proud to help our customers manage their health and be an integral part of their solution to eating better and exercising while they are out on the road," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters.

A variety of StayFit items and activities are available throughout the company's travel centers. On the food side, healthier grab-and-go snacks like vitaminwater, yogurt and Good2Go fresh fruit and veggie cups dot the shelves. In addition, there are dining options noted with the StayFit symbol on select full-service restaurant menus at participating TA and Petro locations.

StayFit exercise options include fitness rooms, walking/running trails (maps available at most locations), basketball hoops and outdoor fitness areas at many locations — all offered at no cost to customers.

In addition, many sites now offer horseshoe and bean bag toss recreation options. To play, equipment will be loaned free of charge to drivers from the travel store counter. For a complete list of StayFit facilities and options, click here.

Fitness accessories like push-up bars, resistance bands, hand grips and workout gloves are also for sale in the travel stores.

TravelCenters offers 24 businesses geared toward servicing the various medical needs of professional drivers, too. TravelCenters, or in some cases, a franchisee of TravelCenters, leases space for these purposes to third parties that are not affiliated with TravelCenters.

Westlake-based TravelCenters conducts business in 43 states and Canada, principally under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands and the Minit Mart convenience store brand.
