TravelCenters of America Adds 15th Medical Clinic

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC (TA) opened the first on-site Statcare medical clinic within its TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel center network. The Statcare clinic brings the number of medical-related clinics in the retailer’s network to 15.

The clinic, operated by Family Statcare of Northeast Ohio LLC, is located at the TA travel center at 8834 Lake Rd. in Seville, Ohio. The site is on Interstate76 and Route 224, off of Interstate 71.

The latest medical clinic provides drivers access to board-certified nurse practitioners who can diagnose and treat a variety of health problems. The clinic also offers Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals, required for professional drivers. Drug screening services are expected to be available by the end of the year, according to the TA announcement.

The Statcare clinic is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and no appointments are necessary. The nurse practitioners are eligible to write prescriptions, which can be filled and picked up on site.

"Many drivers spend a great deal of time on the road. It’s difficult for them to find time to attend to health care when they are home," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. "At the Statcare clinic, drivers can see a health care provider both for chronic conditions, such as a diabetes or high blood pressure, as well as for a routine DOT physical. Having the clinic on site isn’t just a convenience, but a much needed service."
