TravelCenters of America Opens its 43rd Popeyes

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Building on the success of it standing relationship, TravelCenters of America (TA) announced today the addition of the 43rd Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits restaurant to its Porter, Ind., location.
"Popeyes has been a very successful concept for us," Tom Liutkus, director of advertising and public relations for TA told CSNews Online. "It is a very compelling offer to the public and based on that we think it will do very well."
The Atlanta-based Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits is famous for its made-fresh Cajun-style fried chicken, red beans and rice side dishes and many more popular meal items. And after 42 roll outs, TA has a handle on determining which locations and demographics will support a successful launch. "We try and look at the best brand for the best location," said Liutkus.
However, Liutkus explained that deciding on a brand requires due diligence including conducting consumer and industry market research. The latest Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits restaurant, for example, joins an already popular Porter food court that includes a Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. "The decision can take one year or longer," he continued. "It is often based on the best brand affiliation that doesn't compete with the existing market."
