WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers truck stops, is offering a complimentary meal to any truck driver who is also a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, anyone who is a U.S. veteran and holds a commercial driver’s license can receive a complimentary meal of their choice, up to a $15 value, at any participating TA or Petro sit-down restaurant across the United States. More than 170 restaurants are participating, including Iron Skillet, Country Pride and other full-service, homestyle restaurants, according to the company.
"Professional drivers who are veterans have spent their life sacrificing personal and family time both in the armed forces and every day on the road," said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. "We want to take this opportunity to recognize them for these sacrifices and the contributions they have made to our country while in the service and to each of us by moving all of the products we use and need."
To receive their free meal, drivers need only to show proof of their service to the server prior to ordering their meal. Proof of service includes a U.S. Uniform Services Retired identification card, Veterans Organization card, photograph in uniform, DD214, citation or commendation.
