Trumball Service Center Celebrates 40 Years
TRUMBULL, Conn. — The Trumbull Service Center recently celebrated 40 years in business here, all the while owned and operated by the Pastir family, reported the Trumbull Times.
The business, which includes a Mobil gas station, convenience store and full-service car service and repair, underwent expansion and renovations over the last year in time for the anniversary.
Dorothy "Dotty" Pastir and her husband Steven ran the service center, located at 950 White Plains Road in Trumbull, for years with the help of family members, high-school students and other employees. Their son, also named Steven, took over when his father died in 2011.
"Steven began working with his father at a young age and developed a strong interest in the automotive business," Dorothy Pastir told the news outlet.
Customers are the key to the Trumbull Service Center's longevity, according to Steven Pastir. "We've had the same customers coming for years and we see their children growing up and then coming back as customers," he added.
The service center closed in March to undergo renovations and reopened in June. "It's still us and we have the same mission in the community that we've always had," Dorothy Pastir said.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary, a special anniversary event will be held Saturday, Oct. 25. The store will offer free cider and doughnuts to customers and hand out tote bags and other free gifts.
