Turkey Hill Names Hershey Vendor of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. -Turkey Hill Minit Markets recently announced the results of its first-ever Vendor of the Year and Sales Rep of the Year awards, naming Hershey Foods and Hershey customer sales executive David Mysel as the respective winners.

The winners were chosen by the Turkey Hill category management team, which selected the company and company representative that displayed the best practices in category management. In 2005, Turkey Hill plans to add an additional Vendor of the Year award that will be selected by the operations team.

Hershey received a total score of 97 points out of a possible 100. Candidates were scored on five criteria: category management support; sales and margin increase; new products; promotions; and communications.

"It is a great honor to be named Vendor of the Year and we are very proud of this accomplishment. We are also extremely pleased for David Mysel," said Tom Joyce, vice president of customer and industry affairs for Hershey. "To be named the Sales Rep of the Year by all of the Turkey Hill category managers is a testimony to his commitment to winning with his customer."

Earlier this year, Hershey won 7-Eleven's Retailer Initiative Award, as well as a Supplier of the Year award from drugstore chain CVS.
