Turkey Hill's Slushey Giveaway Reaches New Heights
LANCASTER, Pa. — With the dog days of summer coming to a close and school doors opening, Turkey Hill Minit Markets will up the ante of its annual Kids Cup program.
Elementary and intermediate school students in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana can earn a chance to win a free slushey by responding to a letter sent by the convenience store retailer to receive 200 coupons “to use as they see fit to give kids some extra encouragement to do their best,” according to Kim Hertzog, public relations manager for Turkey Hill Minit Markets.
“Every August, we send letters to elementary and intermediate schools near our stores inviting them to participate in the Kids Cup Program,” she explained. “Schools that respond to our letter will receive 200 coupons to use as they see fit to give kids some extra encouragement to do their best. It’s one of the ways we give back to the communities we serve. By pairing a rewards program with good performance, it sends a positive message to students.”
Since 2008, Turkey Hill Minit Markets has given away more than a quarter million slusheys to help schools reward kids for earning good grades and other positive behaviors.
To put into perspective, if all the slusheys were stacked one on top of the other, it would be more than three times the height of Mt. Everest, the company noted.
Lancaster-based Turkey Hill Minit Markets has more than 200 stores in Pennsylvania, Indiana and the Columbus, Ohio, area.
