United Family Sweepstakes Gives Away $549,700

LUBBOCK, Texas — The United Family of stores gave away $549,700 in cash, gift cards and prizes valued at more than $500 each to 105 customers in its 2015 PACK-UR-BAGS sweepstakes and Albertson's seventh annual Monopoly Collect and Win game.

The Monopoly game was available for the first time this year at United Supermarkets, Market Street, Albertsons Market, Amigos and United Express locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, West Texas and New Mexico.

The PACK-UR-BAGS sweepstakes awarded six $20,000 dream vacations to United Family rewards members, including one in each of the company's service areas of Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas-Fort Worth, Lubbock, Wichita Falls and the Permian Basin, the company said. The contest ran from Feb. 11 to May 12. Winners were notified May 22.

"The PACK-UR-BAGS sweepstakes was designed to show appreciation for our guests' loyalty, and these prizes are certainly a significant reward," stated Robin Cash, loyalty manager for The United Family. "In addition, although the Monopoly game was a nationwide contest with more than 1,000 participating locations, we are thrilled many of our guests were able to cash in on their everyday purchases."

The PACK-UR-BAGS sweepstakes ran in conjunction with Albertson's Monopoly Collect and Win game, which let United Family customers play for a share of more than $80 million in prizes nationwide. Prizes for both events included cash, store gift cards, free grocery items and tickets to Six Flags.
