U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Increases Prices

GREENWICH, Conn. -- U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co., the principal subsidiary of UST Inc. and a leading producer and marketer of moist smokeless tobacco products, announced the wholesale price on all its Copenhagen, Skoal and Rooster products will increase by 10 cents to $2.91 per can. Prices on Red Seal and Husky products will remain the same. The price increase will take effect Jan. 1, 2005.

The company is the only smokeless tobacco manufacturer to sign the Smokeless Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement.
