USA Petroleum Sells 122 Stations to Chevron
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- USA Petroleum Corp. has completed negotiations with Chevron USA to sell 122 of its gasoline stations in California. Chevron will operate the stations under the Texaco or Chevron banners, and will revamp the sites with new image standards.
"After nearly 50 years, I believe it is appropriate to sell some of our retail gas station holdings, and I believe that the transition to Chevron also will be good for my customers and station employees," said USA Petroleum owner John Moller.
The majority of the USA Petroleum stations were unbranded, but a small number of the 122 were under the Shell or Chevron banner. California has about 10,000 gas stations, 1,500 of them under the Chevron or Texaco name, according to Chevron.
