Valero Corner Stores Selects PriceAdvantage

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Valero Retail Holdings Inc., Valero Energy Corp.'s network of company-owned stores, chose Skyline Products' PriceAdvantage fuel price management software for its 1,000 Corner Store locations.

The Valero Corner Store team originally created their own in-house pricing application more than a decade ago, but it is now approaching a technology end-of-life for the database, the company said.

"We have been very successful with our own home-grown fuel pricing software, but it is time for us to add new functionality," said Brian Skillern, director, retail marketing -- fuel, pricing and transportation. "After evaluating all available market solutions, we were pleased to find PriceAdvantage."

PriceAdvantage, a specialized retail fuel pricing solution designed for the convenience store industry, increases the efficiency and effectiveness of a retailer's pricing process, according to the announcement. It automates the fuel-pricing process through collection of competitive surveys, efficient and detailed analysis for best price optimization and speed-to-the-street price change execution. Users can change prices at the point-of-sale, fuel pumps and electronic price signs from one central location.

"Valero is a best-in-class petroleum marketer, and we are excited to welcome Valero's company-owned retail division as a customer and partner," said Aaron McHugh, head of the PriceAdvantage division. "Over the years, we have assembled a team of software experts who are hyper-focused on creating easy-to-use and easy-to-deploy automated fuel pricing solutions. We are passionate about Fuel Pricing software and we are pleased that Valero has recognized our system as the industry leading solution."

Valero currently operates 1,000 Corner Stores throughout California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Wyoming.
