Valero Energy Signs Global Enterprise Agreement with SAP

SAN ANTONIO -- Valero Energy signed an agreement to work with SAP to combine both companies' expertise with product offerings from SAP and create an IT landscape across Valero's offices and 16 oil refineries throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean, the company reported.

"We are looking forward to leveraging the global enterprise agreement with SAP as we aim to drive innovation and efficiency in our core business operations," Hal Zesch, senior vice president and chief information officer at Valero, said in a released statement. "We see this relationship as highly strategic, seeking to create value both for SAP and Valero. Initiatives that encourage and enable innovation must be incorporated into a company's operations to stimulate growth."

The global enterprise agreement (GEA) includes software, strategic software developments and maintenance, and SAP will streamline Valero's core business processes and enable business self-service strategy. The agreement also includes collaboration on an energy solution with the sustainability team at SAP; co-innovating with Valero to extend and standardize its operational performance and risk management capabilities; and reducing the total cost of Valero's IT landscape, according to the companies.
