Valero, PBF Energy Awarded for Energy and Environmental Excellence

HOUSTON -- Hart Energy will honor Valero Energy Corp. and Thomas O'Malley, chairman of PBF Energy Partners, with "Energy and Environmental Excellence" awards in recognition of their contributions to sustainable transportation fuel supplies and the environment.

Hart will present the awards at a gala dinner on Sept. 21 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., following the company's "Future of Transportation Fuels in the U.S." conference.

William Klesse, chairman of Valero, will accept the award on behalf of the company. The world's largest independent petroleum refiner and marketer, Valero currently operates 15 refineries and 10 ethanol plants in the United States, Canada, U.K. and the Caribbean.

O'Malley will deliver the keynote remarks at the dinner. Formerly president and CEO of Tosco, which later merged with Phillips Petroleum, O'Malley was the first refiner to support the Environmental Protection Agency's low sulfur gasoline rule, according to the announcement.

The gala dinner will be included with registration for the conference. The event will celebrate industry and government collaboration and energy and environmental progress, according to Hart. Registered delegates should confirm attendance with Heather Motschman by calling (713) 260-6446 or e-mailing [email protected].
